Reasons To Choose Our Clinic

10 Good Reasons To Choose Horrington Clinic

Knowing which clinic to consult can be daunting. These considerations may help you decide.

It can be quite daunting approaching these medical cosmetic treatments for the first time, or changing your practitioner for whatever reason.
The amount of research resources are overwhelming and every website or social media marketing proclaims experience and expertise that cannot be verified.
I hope the considerations I consider important resonate with you.

You want to feel safe

You can’t be expected to know what you don’t know, you may not know what questions to ask and how do you check what’s true and what isn’t?

Emma Davies (Horrington Clinic) is accredited by Save Face

They do all the checks so you don’t have to.
Save Face is a government approved register helping to establish regulation in Aesthetic Medicine. The practitioners (and their registered premises) on the Save Face register have been verified and inspected against a set of professional standards. When you select a practitioner from this register, you can be sure they are who they say they are, have the specialist training and insurance required, and that that their practice standards provide safe treatments, in a safe environment. Furthermore, if you are not happy with the treatment or service you have received, Save Face will investigate your complaint and advise and support you as appropriate.

Only the top brands are used and all sourced from licensed suppliers.

Emma only uses the top five brands of dermal filler, they are not the cheapest, but they are all FDA approved, long established, and the manufacturers are constantly investing in research and development and also in quality education for clinicians who use their products. Emma only purchases products from licensed and regulated pharmacies, these suppliers are not the cheapest, but this ensures no fake or counterfeit brands.
You will find the clinic is bright, well equipped, comfortable and very clean.

Emma is a recognised expert in the diagnosis and management of complications.

Emma is an internationally known expert in the management of complications and has authored or co-authored over 5 peer reviewed journal papers on the topic. Read more. In 2010, concerned that the diagnosis and management of complications was never addressed in training, and being rare, remained a mystery to the majority, I formed The Aesthetic Complications Expert Group. This brought together a team of dedicated and experienced professionals to publish consensus guidelines, based on a thorough examination of the evidence base. The Group has expanded in its scope to provide support and guidance, an emergency helpline and an on-line forum for sharing cases and experience. The ACE Group, as it is known now, has over 4000 members and complications are no longer a topic not to be explored or presented at conferences and workshops. The ACE Group won Professional Initiative of The Year in 2017.

In 2020 Emma and the majority of ACE Group board members moved on to form The Complications in Medical Aesthetics Collaborative. CMAC, as it is known, focusses more on education, encouraging practitioners to develop their knowledge and understanding and to drive the evidence base forward.

It all begins with you. Before you commit to any treatment, Emma offers new clients a free and friendly 15-30 minute personal consultation with herself.

A full medical history will be requested before your first appointment. You will be sent a link to an on-line form in advance of your appointment. It’s important you take a few minutes to complete it before attending.

Why do you need all this personal information before you can tell me about the treatment I want?

These are medical treatments so Emma takes your safety and the safety of the treatments seriously. Your initial consultation is a vital first step, whether you are considering cosmetic treatments for the first time, or whether you have had treatments before, elsewhere, this is a step Emma won’t skip.

Your consultation is an opportunity for you to discuss your concerns and expectations with an expert and to feel confident and safe in Emma's abilities and approach.

It also allows her to assess your treatment needs, understand any medical issues, medicines or life-style factors that need to be taken into account, and very importantly, understand your expectations.

Once we have exchanged all this information Emma can introduce you to those treatments she feels may be best suited to help you achieve the results you desire. She will spend time going through the treatments she would recommend, the costs involved, and answer any questions you may have.

After that initial conversation you will receive written information to read and review. If and when you decide to go ahead, Emma will at that point explain the treatment in more detail, and any further questions you may have will be answered before proceeding.

You don’t want a hard sell or to be rushed in making any decisions

Emma is a nurse, first and foremost. ‘I am not a saleswoman, I am not on any commission. I have built a successful clinic over many years and my goal is satisfied and loyal clients who return over many years. This approach has served me and my clients really well. I don’t invest any money or time in marketing or social media, perhaps I should, but my diary is busy looking after the clients I have and welcoming new clients mainly from word of mouth.

Everyone pays the same, there are no discounts or special offers and no marketing emails.

With your consent, you will be sent treatment reminders to help maintain or build on the results we have achieved or stick with the treatment plan we have agreed.'

You want great results, but don’t want to look like you’ve had work done

Close

The vast majority of Emma's clients are over 40 and commonly begin the conversation sharing their concerns that they don’t want to look ‘done’, they actually don’t want anyone to know they’ve had work done.

Of course, Emma understands EXACTLY what they mean. Of course you do not want to invest £100’s and look just the same, but it is absolutely possible to look better; less tired, less saggy, less sad, but NOT look like someone else and for the change to be great - but not obvious - even to friends and family. We want to get compliments - "You look well/happy/great", but not, “What have you done/had done?".

That doesn’t mean Emma excludes or judges those who DO want to make remarkable changes, providing they can be achieved and safely. But she does reserve the right to decline to treat.

You are a private person, your time is precious, you want confidentiality respected

Close

Horrington Clinic is not on the high street and has no signage (genuinely discreet). There is private, allocated parking right outside the door. Emma provides plenty of time for appointments, so you are unlikely to be kept waiting - she appreciates that your time is as valuable as hers!

On occasion, if you arrive early, there is a sitting room. Apologies if you are kept waiting. It won’t happen often.

You want to be treated like an individual

Different people need different approaches

Emma getting to know you and understanding what kind of care and approach will best serve you. For example;

  • Does talking help you with any nerves?
  • Do you prefer quiet, or do like to listen to music?
  • Is time precious? Do you want to be in and out?
  • Do we need extra time to take things slowly?
  • Do you want to know all the science, or just what you need to know in plain English?

Is Emma going to be a good fit for you?

  • Emma will understand YOUR individual expectations, needs and which treatments will best meet them.
  • Emma is not wedded to a particular brand or invested in selling a particular treatment. Although Emma sticks to the top brands for reasons explained, they form her tool box; one brand does not suit all and each brand has a range of products to choose from, so she is able to tailor the choice of product and brand for the quality of outcome you need or want.
  • You may need a treatment that is not offered, if this is the case, Emma will direct you to suitable alternatives, and will always include alternatives you might want to consider as part of the consultation, whether or not they are offered at Horrington.

Emma has undertaken training in a wide range of treatments over the years, and attend workshops, conferences and a range of learning to keep up to date. She also have a wide network of experts to consult should the need arise. However, she is now in the privileged position to stick to a menu of treatments she is really good at and those she really loves performing.

Value for money is important to you

Pricing is consistent and transparent, everyone pays the same and Emma will work with you to devise bespoke treatment plans to achieve goals whilst respecting your budget. There will never be any hard sell, or pressure to make decisions quickly, nor will there be time limited special offers or discounts. Emma is a nurse, not a sales person.
