What is The Perfect Peel and how does it work?

Kojic Acid is a powerful lightening agent, proven to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in skin that is brighter and tighter. TCA, Phenol and Retinoic Acid reduce wrinkles and correct pigment problems, while Salicylic Acid exfoliates the skin and reduces inflammation. Alone the ingredients are powerful, in combination the results are outstanding.

How long do The Perfect Peel results last?

As long as the skin is maintained with good quality skin care your new improved skin can be maintained.

Is The Perfect Peel safe?

The Perfect Peel is a medical grade peel which must be applied by a trained professional. There are some risks associated with any peel, your practitioner will discuss.

Am I suitable for The Perfect Peel treatment?

The Perfect Peel can really help with a range of skin concerns, it can:

  • Improve the overall tone and texture

  • Remove and reduce sun damage and age spots
  • Reduce pore size and soften fine lines and wrinkles

This peel is even suitable for darker skin types.
Not suitable for pregnant women and if you have been taking Roacutane you must wait for at least three months from stopping before having a peel.
 

Does The Perfect Peel treament hurt?

The peel is not painful during application and entails a slight sting for the first 30-45 seconds. The practitioner will use a fan to cool the area for your comfort.

How do I prepare for The Perfect Peel treatment?

The Perfect Peel requires no preconditioning of the skin prior to treatment.

What is the aftercare for The Perfect Peel?

On day 1 (the day if the peel)
No make-up

For first 6 hours after the peel is applied
Do not wash, touch, rub, scratch or apply make-up to the treated skin.
15 minutes before bed apply approx. 1/2 the sachet of ABC post peel serum, liberally to the treated area. Allow to dry, it may sting, but this passes.

For 5 days
Do not apply any moisturiser.

Any stinging or itching can be relieved with a cold pack and or antihistamines.

Day 3-7
Gently wash, or use a mild cleanser a.m and p.m.
Gently pat dry, do not scrub or rub.
Mild peeling/flaking generally begins on day3/4

Day 5
Important! Once mild peeling begins, water wash or cleanse with a gentle cleanser.
Apply a small amount of ‘5-a-day’ provided in your aftercare pack.  Apply to the new skin 2-3 times daily to control peeling and relieve tightness and irritation. Continue to use until it is finished. Additional ‘5-a-day’ can be purchased online or from the clinic.

Some irritation or discomfort is expected and can continue up to date 10, but in some cases can last longer. If discomfort is prolonged or worries you, please contact the clinic.

It is important to follow all the homeware advice to the letter, and also to avoid sun exposure, heat and sweating during the peeling process, up to ten days.

When should I schedule The Perfect Peel treatment?

Patients will  experience peeling throughout days 3-6 and will be completely finished with the peeling process by day 7.
