Exosomes are microscopic ‘packages’, carrying a cargo of growth factors, proteins, lipids and chemical and genetic instructions into target cells.  Exosomes have become an exciting area of research for their potential in medicine, more recently in the field of dermatology for their ability to rejuvenate the skin and stimulate hair regrowth. At Horrington we use the brand, Dermaroma Purasomes. The exosomes for this brand are derived from cow’s colostrum. The manufacturing process involves complex processes of purification and selection. They are supplied in the form of serum, with an additional, bespoke cocktail of skinceuticals depending on the outcome goals. 

Exosomes work by facilitating communication between cells through the transfer of bioactive molecules, including proteins, lipids, and genetic material. When applied to the skin or scalp, they enhance cellular regeneration and repair processes. In skin rejuvenation, exosomes deliver growth factors directly to skin cells, stimulating collagen and elastin production, which improves skin texture, firmness, and hydration, they are also anti-inflammatory, calming redness and promoting healing.

For hair loss, exosomes target hair follicles, delivering essential growth factors which cause the hair to enter the active growth phase. promoting their growth and revitalization by increasing blood flow and encouraging dormant follicles to enter the active growth phase. This revitalization of dormant follicles leads to increased hair density and thickness.
